Ronnie Rodrigues was interviewed by Bollywood’s prestigious Film Trade Magazine ‘BLOCKBUSTER’ on Dec.6’2014. Here are the excerpts of this interview:
‘MELODY IS AN INTERNATIONAL MULTI-LINGUAL FILM’
The enterprising producer tells that he is excited to bridge the gap between Hollywood and Bollywood with his film Melody.
The musical film Melody launched recently is being produced by Ronnie Rodrigues under the banners of PBC Motion Picture and Pomy Films and has been written and directed by the award winning director Sunil Babbar.
THE USP OF MELODY IS…
It has an ensemble cast from both Hollywood as well as Bollywood. The Italian / American Singer / Actress / Model Nadia Lanfranconi and Hollywood Actor / Producer / Director / Distributor and EP of Warner Bros. USA, Kenneth Dixon play the pivotal characters of this film. To embellish the powerful supporting star cast, a few actors from the USA and India are in the process of being cast in the film.
MELODY IS TO BE SHOT IN THREE LANGUAGES
Niclas Ribbarp, from Sweden, is the cinematographer of the film, which is being shot in three languages – English, Hindi and Italian, while Sunil Babbar and Swapan Roy are the editors. Nadia Lanfranconi is the music composer of the film. There are plans to dub the film in three more International languages for its worldwide release.
MELODY TO BE FILMED ACROSS US AND UK
The locations of the film include parts of Europe, America and India. The principal photography of the film will start in January / February 2015 and it is slated for release by the year end in all over the world in all these languages.
FROM SECOND WORLD WAR TO 2015
The narrative of Melody travels from the period of the great depression in the Second World War to the present times. It travels from the political / cultural boundaries of the Europe-to-America-to-India in around 70 years of time in a very significant way. The film has a unique and powerful narrative in it. Music and Karma perfectly merge into each other in the film.
FLYOVER BETWEEN HOLLYWOOD AND BOLLYWOOD
The video messages of Nadia Lanfranconi and Kenneth Dixon presented before the Bollywood fraternity, actually created a ‘bridge’ between the two huge film making communities of the Hollywood and Bollywood. The 42-year old Ronnie hails from a rich business family in Bollywood. He came out of the comfort of his well-established finance and construction business PBC to narrate his vision of Bollywood cinema to the global audiences by launching a challenging subject like Melody, which is an experimental musical film.
BOLLYWOOD HAS A GLOBAL REACH
The father of newly born twins Charles and Caaden, Ronnie is excited about his new business venture. While speaking on his debut film, Ronnie Rodrigues said, “I love cinema. Bollywood cinema has a global reach now. India related films like Slumdog Millionaire and Life of Pie have created a huge clientele in the World cinema.”
MELODY IS SUNIL BABAR’S DREAM PROJECT
Writer cum director Sunil Babbar confesses that Melody is his dream project collaborating the talents culled from both Hollywood and Bollywood together. “The narrative of my film travels from the period of the great depression in the second world war to the present times in 2015. I strongly believe that karma and music merge into each other and that is what I am going to show in my film.”
